Sonoma County boasts world class cycling routes and some of the most scenic are right here in the Russian River Valley. Cycling teams from all over the world come here to train.
This year’s upgraded Tour de Vine for serious cyclists begins near downtown Healdsburg, rolls out Westside Road, (and past Westside Lodge, near the intersection of Westside Road and River Road) through Green Valley and back into Healdsburg via Eastside Road, where the ride finishes with a delicious box lunch. Our vintners who are also serious riders will be pedaling with along with you, sharing stories and pointing out some of the regions most famed vineyards. And for the perfect Wine Country cycling experience, we recommend participating in the morning ride, and then coming back out for Saturday evening’s Hog in the Fog ~ Festival of Plenty!
This tour also has goodwill on the menu. Russian River Valley Winegrowers will have a booth at the Farmers’ Market to help Bicycles for Humanity (B4H) collect used, adult mountain bikes in fair to good condition. B4H sends these bikes to Africa to provide sustainable transportation to healthcare workers treating AIDS and other diseases in rural communities. Five dollars of each ticket will be donated to B4H to help raise funds for shipping costs.
If you have a used, adult mountain bike in fair to good condition, please bring it to our booth at the Healdsburg Farmers’ Market on Saturday morning for donation to this great cause.
